And if so, everyone should be able to Master the skills of Selling, since there must be a wealth of information available.
I knew at an early age (10) that I really enjoyed SELLING because I was led to believe, and still do, Selling is an honorable vocation. What other vocation can offer the enjoyment of a life filled with the daily knowledge they had contributed to the well-being and satisfaction of so many people?
I recently joined a 400 person member course offered by Mark Januszewski and the crew at The World’s Laziest Networker. I had the privilege of hooking up with Mark almost 10 years ago because we share a Passion for Napoleon Hill, Charles Haanel, and Og Mandino.
The course is called The Master Key Master Mind Allianceand runs 26 weeks with a focus on developing YOUR Business Mindset. It is very structured and requires the 400 “members” to read, study and discuss the works of Charles Haanel and Og Mandino, apply some direct mental exercises, learn how to pay it forward and attend Webinars weekly.

It was the re-introduction to Og Mandino’s famous books that energized me since I purchased the book when first published in 1968 and it was most instrumental in MY fine tuning my developing Sales Skills and I credit to being pivotal for my Success in the SELLING Business for the past 50 years.
I actually followed the directions of the Book, The Greatest Salesman in the World…..
Reading each scroll daily for a month and applying a daily action to my Definite major Purpose, declared in 1960 thanks to the direction of Think and Grow Rich.
What defines SELLING as the Oldest Profession?
If you think about it, everything that has happened (good or bad) to mankind, over the eons, has been the result of a Sale.
Do you agree?
Og Mandinobooks intensify that fact and cause those with a burning desire, to improve the Skill Sets required to SELL effectively.
Selling is most rewarding, not only with an opportunity to appreciate potentially unlimited income, but also the sense of real accomplishment and the knowledge that your skill has SOLVED the problem initiated by the Prospect (potential customer).
My personal experience has proved that it is NOT the money received that provides the sense of well-being from being a Salesman. It is the sense of knowing you have Helped Others solve a problem they possessed. Don’t misunderstand that compensation is important.
It is that compensation that allows a professional sales person to grow and help others.

The basis of Mandino’s first book The Greatest Salesman in the World is the 10 scrolls available to the protagonist, Hafid as he embarks on his quest to become The World’s Greatest Salesman in the World.
These scrolls are to read 3Xs daily, once out loud. It is that “requirement” that stops most people from being impacted positively by this book.
I followed the exercises several times in the past decades and have been renewed in energy and success each time.

My reading of Scroll One
It is really interesting that this BOOK does little to share the SKILLS of SELLING, but it does lay the foundation and direction to BECOME the person who OWNS control of their Habits and Thought processes.My experiences have proved that my OWNING the power to perceive and conceive have been crucial in my ability to Sell easily and have customers who felt very well served. In fact, doing the best job possible assures your customer base to return and NOT spend your life worrying about continually building new “lists”

This has been an exciting week, diving back into my favorite studies from the past 50 years.
Mark and Davene Januszewski rekindled my fire with their 2014 Course, known as Master Key Master Mind Alliance. Learn more about Mark and the dynamic Davene at The Worlds Laziest Networker
Over the years Mark and I have shared our love of the direction presented by Napoleon Hill and Charles Haanel. The 2014 Master Key Master Mind Alliance course is an intense, 6 month study and discussion of anyone, with the burning desire can alter their Lifestyle to attain that which THEY define as important.
During the first week we are directed to Write our Definite Major Purpose, read Scroll ONE, 3 x’s daily from Og Mandino’s 1968 classic, The World’s Greatest Salesmanand Week One of The Master Key, by Haanel.
This exercise brought a sense of joy and also a bittersweet feeling.
For the past decade my lifestyle slowed down and I enjoyed helping others, following my declared 1960 Definite Major Purpose, Enjoy Freedom and Help Others.
The FREEDOM came through a career involved in SALES, the most honorable profession a person can choose. If we think about it almost everything good that has occurred in our lives is the result of a sale. And the Income derived from Sales allowed me to invest time and capital in helping others, within MY defined parameters.
I believe one reason Selling was an enjoyable and effortless road was taking to the exciting ideas, such as expressed by Og Mandino below
Always render more and better service than is expected of you, no matter what your task may be. Og Mandino 1923-1996
By the way, clients who always deliver more than expected experience continued increase in Sales and profits…amazing!
The bittersweet feeling came from my losing connection to my True Authentic Self. That easily occurred when I accepted a position with a company to increase their Sales. But the Corporate environment was in direct opposition to my usual routine and business practice.
And I sensed my getting lost in the noise of the Environment.
That NOW behind, I am looking forward to the next 26 week with Mark, Davene and the other 400 students embarking on a journey of Positive Habit, Belief in Self and declaring our True Authentic Selves.

This past year has NOT allowed me to stay in-sync with the principles of Charles Haanel and Napoleon Hill, and their writings.
I stepped away from my normal “lifestyle” this past year to accept a “corporate position” to help revise a marketing system. The experience was a hard adjustment, since I have guided my daily tasks following MY Definite Major Purpose and controlled my own environment for over 50 years.
I have been revitalized back into the Thought pattern of being in total control of my day and responsiblities.
